This month, I present you with the "Not by Accident" Challenge!
Composers and improvisers are accustomed to altering pitches within a key to ornament melodies, deepen expression, modulate, or for virtuoso display. By using accidentals, diatonic collections can be altered to change the color of a piece of music. But today, I am challenging you find profound, expressive, and interesting music which contains NO accidentals - no altered pitches! There are plenty of examples out there. Watch this video to learn more about my three favorites, then share some of your favorites with me via e-mail, or the YouTube comments section.
