Saturday, December 3, 2011
2:00pm - Town Hall
Santa Claus is coming to town!
And he knows if you’ve been bad or good . . .
So be good for goodness sake -
and bring along the whole family to celebrate
the season at LUCO’s Holiday Concert!

Leave your tux and top hat in the closet and break out your favorite elf hat and reindeer antlers! It will be a festive afternoon full of holiday music, including classic carols for a Sing-a-Long. You just can’t celebrate without a rousing rendition of Sleigh Ride or the wistful Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.
And where else can you hear Tintinabulations – variations on Jingle Bells in the styles of Rossini, Johann Strauss, Jazz, and Country Western?

with special guest, Jacqueline Tabor
Jacqueline Tabor, who recently won the annual Kobe Jazz Queen Competition held at Jazz Alley, has released her debut album. “What a Wonderful World,” which features renditions of the classics such as “The Very Thought of You” and “Pennies from Heaven”. Her songs are delivered with understated emotional intensity that pulls the listener in and holds them there.
Tabor is most heavily influenced by Sarah Vaughn and her deep melodic style. However being the God Daughter of the late and great Seattle Icon Edmonia Jarrett her work and sacrifices have inspired Tabor to craft a style that is powerful, expressive and touching. Her other influences include Diane Reeves, Jill Scott, Adele and Mel Torme.
While Tabor has always had vocal talent, it wasn’t until 2000 that she began to study from well-known Cornish College of the Arts instructor and local jazz artist Andrienne Wilson. Under Wilson’s tutelage, Tabor flourished and gained confidence to take her artistry to a new level, performing at Tula’s in Seattle. In 2005, she joined with the Black Lab Trio where she continued to hone her craft until becoming a solo artist in December 2010.
It was shortly after going solo, that Tabor won the Kobe Jazz Queen Vocalist competition, which allowed her to travel to Kobe, Japan where she performed for an audience of 500 at Asahi Hall on May 14th, 2011.
To produce her CD, Tabor gathered around her a close-knit, but all-star, cast of musicians who know her style and can intuitively follow the musical direction she sets. Her in-studio musicians included: Hans Brehmer on Piano, Larry Holloway on Bass, Ken French on Drums and Alexey Nikolaev on Saxophone.
She lives in Lake Forest Park, Washington, with her husband and three children
